We are a project-based club targeting areas of change that focuses on economic disparities between marginalized identities.

This year, we are focusing on highlighting the intersectionality of marginalized identities, particularily women and people of color, and how they are economically affected by society. Through our project proposals, we will target specific issues within our community.

Our Mission

EST. 09/2023

The Current Economic Situation

As of September 2023, women are paid at least 23% less than men are; their loss adds up to about $1.6 trillion. Additionally, people of color get less job opportunities, with only 40% of people of color in the working class. This is due to the typical job hiring bias and racism in the economic system. Both women and people of color are often seen in economically depressed neighborhoods, compared to their gender and ethnic counterparts.

  • Change Advocates is a student run organization that highlights economic disparities between marginalized identities. This year, our projects and blogs focus demonstrating the struggles of women and people of color. We hope to spread awareness to our community about these issues and to influence the work field with our projects.

  • No. Change Advocates is a group which seeks to promote freedom and excellence for all identities, not just marginalized identities; we focus on marginalized identities, though, to create acceptance for those who may identify a certain way. This year, we are focusing on women and POC. In the future, we will target other marginalized identities, like people with disabilities, the LGBTQIA+ group, people with illnesses, and more.
